We worked with our network of specialist suppliers to help develop a recycled polymer, which allowed the product to be built in an environmentally-friendly manner.
MGS has delivered an environmentally-friendly solution to an energy provider set to bring a new smart meter to the market.
Thanks to the quality of our previous work, we were recommended for the job by the organisation designing the smart meter technology, a company we have worked with on previous projects.
Our established relationships with a wide range of suppliers was a main factor in winning this contract. A key requirement of the product’s construction was that it would be built in an environmentally friendly way, using entirely recycled materials, and helped to develop them.
We worked with our network of specialist suppliers to work with a recycled polymer, giving the design its required green credentials. The polymer also meets all standard requirements, is fire retardant and high quality aesthetic finish.
Mark Preston, MGS sales director, said: “This was a particularly tricky set of demands as recycled materials are generally not of high enough quality to meet our stringent quality standards.
“However, we have been able to develop an option that has produced great results. It’s far superior to standard recycled materials, and we have been able to introduce it to our other customers so that they too can benefit from this greener option.”
The project is now underway, and we are currently producing seven tools ready for manufacture of this project, set to begin this summer.
